Standards Maps for Grades Nine Through Twelve

CDE offers Standards Maps to support review and adoption of high school materials. Standards maps for high school CA NGSS are currently under development.

Standards map templates were developed so that school districts can determine the extent to which instructional materials, or a combination of instructional materials, for students in grades nine through twelve align with the content standards adopted by the State Board of Education (SBE). Publishers are invited to include completed standards maps with materials offered for sale in the four core content areas in grades nine through twelve, citing where their materials align with the content standards. The standards maps are also a tool for local educational agencies to use when evaluating instructional materials for alignment with content standards, as local school boards must certify that materials are aligned with the California content standards. Instructional Materials for High School Science

California does not review or adopt instructional materials for high school at the state-level. The review and adoption process is entirely local. CASE encourages those participating in the review of materials for high school to access and make use of the information in the "Resources for Reviewing" section of this website.

The following list of programs has been curated to help high schools locate instructional materials from publishers who have produced materials that claim alignment, correlation, or connections to NGSS for high school. CASE has not reviewed these materials in any way and makes no endorsement of the following programs. CASE has not received compensation for the listing of these programs and simply provides this list as a resource for teachers looking for options. If you know of a program that is not listed below, please contact Jana Reyes to have the program added (jana(at)cascience.org).
